My cocktail is on fire...

If you are looking for a place to chill out and have a cocktail on a Sunday afternoon go for  " T5 "  situated in Kolonaki area in Athens... That is if you are anywhere near Athens of course...

The skilled barmen surprised us with their hot cocktails...

The ones closer to my taste were "Minnie" - consisted or rum, wine, cherry liqueur and mainly rose flavour -for those who prefer sweet tastes... and also "Mona Lisa", which I can confidently say I hesitant to try out, since it's made with whiskey which I don't normally drink, but I gave it a shot just because of the ingredients - dark chocolate, butterscotch and caramel - and I can proudly say I did not regret it at all, on the contrary it was quite amazing...

I would personally recommend you to try one of them, apart from the taste, it's really worth to see how they’re made...

Suberbs' quality...

The further from the centre the better the spots....

Talking about "Bar Bukowski" in the eastern part of Amsterdam, which combines the morning joy of a brunch and the evening pleasure of a bar....

What really impressed me was the super-healthy menu these guys had...But that was not just it...

How can a simple sandwich look that good ?? This was not just about the taste... Take a look at below, see for yourselves....

To top it off, it is a rare combination of good food and low prices.....

Benedict Eggs with ham and hollandaise sauce

A slice of organic bread with cottage cheese, tomato and avocado

A sandwich with chicken, bacon, cheese, tomato and honey-mustard sauce

Burger-dam(n) !!

It is true what they say... That while travelling, you should go to the places many local’s go...
Yes they do know best… And so we did.....

Passing by "De Prael Proeflokaal & Brouwerij" it was quite obvious this place was hiding something special... We didn't give it much thought. We went full on speed and immediately ordered the (Prael) burger, a plate of crispy butterfly shrimps and another one with a mix of different kinds of cheese and meat...

We did make a great choice... The plates were good, but the burger was awesome!

It was served on a beer roll with bacon and cheese and pepper sauce and fries and salad and and and and and it was delicious! Can’t stop thinking about it really..

To better enjoy, feel free to try their own brewed beer (any kind... Lager, Ale, IPA, Pale Ale etc.) and I am sure you won’t regret visiting this place....

Brunch is always a good idea...

Walking in Amsterdam on an empty stomach is not a great start of the day.. And so... Yes! Brunch!

Brunch -  brunch  - brunch!!!

This amazing little place, "Staring at Jacob",  on a corner right by the canal offered us some seriously good food.

Rasco

It was all a mix of sweet and sour flavours, fried chicken with waffles (yes it was that good!), beans with pulled pork and eggs Benedict and a really good-looking fine-tasting salad.

Wild Boar Benedict

The prices might were a bit steep, but the food was really good, as well as the place and the environment, so in total, it was a very good choice and I would suggest everyone who visits Amsterdam and is in the mood for original and tasty food should totally visit this place too...

Gone with the Wind(mill).....

Staring at the windmill for a while made me curious and decided to get closer to find out what it was... Obviously a windmill but there was something about it.. It turned out to be a Dutch Brewery named "Brouwerij 't IJ" !

My prayers were heard.. thought I could get some rest in there, besides the place looked really cool and had an industrial decoration and wooden tables and seats all around and would totally justify the fact that it was full.

You can find there many different kinds of beers and for those who have difficulties in making their mind up, there is the sample option where you take several mini glasses of beer... Try them out! Really good!

For those who are interested in the brewing process, you can have a tour during the weekend, as they have a group around noon for the English speaking people and one a bit later, around 16:00 o'clock for the native speakers.

If you visit Amsterdam, make sure to get this place for a beer and if you are lucky and you spend the weekend there, why not take the tour and check the brewing process, which I personally found very interesting.

Amsterdam... The "Sweet" Paradise...

Having spent a long weekend in Amsterdam, I would say it was a very inspiring -foodwise- city...

Cycling around the city turned to be an exhausting activity, so I felt like I should reward myself, buying all kinds of different sweets and anyway Amsterdam is famous for the waffles and crepes, so of course I couldn't miss that.

I had a waffle in "Suffren Patisserie", the dough of which was so hot, soft and delicious and it was covered with nutella and smarties... Might not look something special, until you try it......

My next temptation was at "Dolce & Gelato bio", was a very well-cooked crepe with crispy dough, stuffed with white chocolate and nutella and loads of crispy caramel pieces, which came with a scoop of Kit-Kat on top. Nostalgia comes into my mind, every time I think about it .....
Just a note for all of you, who take seriously into your account the origin of the ingredients, you should be aware that they only use biological.

One more desire for sweets led me to "Metropolitan", where I tasted pop-corn covered with white chocolate and poping sugar... An amazing snack, which made my mouth explode !!

Seems like Amsterdam hides many sweet temptations and I would highly recommend to everyone visiting Amsterdam not to hesitate to try them....

A taste of the past.....

Walking around Chelsea this noon, I could barely feel my hands from the cold and my hungry belly had already started whining......

A familiar smell kept me hooked in front of  "GAIL's Artisan Bakery" in Chelsea. These brioches with tomato, garlic, olives and melted feta cheese wouldn't leave my mind...

The taste of it was as extraordinary as its smell and as I was eating it, all the ingredients made me think of my motherland...

Don't get me started on the place, which was so warm and friendly and had a ceiling window, from which you could enjoy the sunny (though cold) London...
